12pm. Had enough of the parade. Going for a walk to The Bridge Lounge. This is Nicole with Onno. We walked down to The Bridge Lounge. We were hoping it would be a little less crowded but it wasn't so bad. This was the scene outside. Kate was some sort of glittery bird. Kate and Tamme here. You can see that Tamme drinks a lot here or is very indecisive towards what sort of drink she wants.
10am. Zulu is rolling past The Avenue Pub. I'm feeling pretty well still, but am approaching my threshold for the parades. Mr. Too Much Mardi Gras rises. Love plastic crap. Coast Guard helicopter flies over The Avenue Pub. That hand belongs to me. Inside the bag is a coveted Zulu coconut.
9am. Zulu is beginning to roll by The Avenue Pub. But first a visit from our friendly Mayor, Ray Nagin. That would be the guy dressed as a Native American. Zulu begins to roll past, and the gin begins to flow. I came to a thought after looking at this picture. The man passed out has had a bit too much Mardi Gras, or maybe life. Looking at this picture, are we seeing a foreshadowing? If Jonathan continues too grow that beard of his, will he grow into our passed out reveler?
7am. Feeling alright still. Starting to really tire of this whole thing though. I know there is much more too come. St. Charles avenue has been filled all night with campers waiting for the parades to start. The sun has come up and more of them are up and moving. A lot were up all night. Taking a walk around I saw this FEMA trailer. I guess whoever lives here is making the most of things. Inside The Avenue Pub I run into Christie, Judd, and someone who I only met that morning and can no longer remember.
6am. Had to take this photo from my car so it didn't come out very well at all. This is in front of Miss Mays, 0r The Club, or what ever the hell you want to call it.
5am. That is The Avenue Pub. I walked on down the street and went to Igor's. Inside burgers were being ordered by many. Coffee also seemed popular. Fuel for the coming day. Don't be fooled though, plenty of drinks were being ordered as well. Scottish Brian was back working at Igor's after a hiatus. All the tourist that he hates were very "happy" about that.
4am. I'm at Lucky's on St. Charles. This, for some reason, is the only picture I took while in the place. I guess I got caught up in talking to Travis and just forgot about the time. So it's a bad picture, but it is what it is.
3 am, still at the Half Moon. I don't know who Jose is sending a text message to at this hour but it's a bit ridiculous. The bar should be emptying out soon. Adam is bar tending and I'd say he was a bit messed up at this point.
1 am. Debbie came into town with Simon, who I haven't seen up to this point. They called and convinced me to go to the Half Moon. So off I went. By the way that isn't Simon, it's Mark.
